Families

The Royal Monastery of St Mary of Pedralbes welcomes the family public. Families who visit the monastery will find a heritage site packed with history, which bears witness to the daily life of the female community of Poor Clares over almost seven centuries. In Pedralbes, you will find the following: Europe’s largest Gothic cloister; St Michael’s Chapel, with its Gothic paintings preserved almost intact; the church, which preserves much of its medieval stained glass; the tomb of the founder of the monastery, Elisenda de Moncada; and the community’s rich art treasure.

To make the building more family-friendly, the Monastery of Pedralbes offers a family audio guide and support materials for the self-guided tour, and also a series of activities aimed specifically at families.
